Several peeps have asked about the ejection in today's game during Angel's AB. I thought Pagan initiated it because I looked up and saw him walk out of the batter's box, but it was the ump who did it. There was a drunk fan yelling "you suck" repeatedly. Then he yelled something with crude connotations, and that was it.
Personally, I *love* that he was ejected. Yes, the guy paid for a ticket, but so did everyone around him. I'll never forget the night I took my niece to her first game. She was about 8. We were playing LA. We were sitting 5 rows behind the visitor's bull pen. About mid way through the game, a young Dodgers' fan in the next section, who was clearly plowed, continually stood up and faced us and yelled "f#%k the Giants!" I tried to ignore and distract my niece, but drunk girl was too loud. My niece finally says "do you hear that girl who is saying bad words, Auntsy Nancy?" I told her yes, and tried to explain a bit.
The sad thing is that my niece's only memory of her first game is "the girl who yelled bad words." I don't know why I didn't have security escort her out, but the next time it happened I immediately got security. I'm not a prude, and I curse, but only in appropriate settings, not places where so many people spend a lot of money to bring the whole family for a fun time. So kudos to Bob Davidson, I hope it starts a trend!
