Updates on some injured players, most notably Brandon Belt (concussion). Unfortunately, Belt is unlikely to rejoin the team this season. Even if he were cleared to play in the next week, he'd need a few weeks to prepare and by then the season will be over. With Jarrett Parker out since Friday with a mild oblique strain, the Giants are hoping for a speedy recovery for the left fielder. Boch said the club is targeting the upcoming series with the White Sox as a potential date. Austin Slater (hip), who hasn’t played since July 7, is scheduled to rejoin the Giants tomorrow. Boch plans to ease the rookie outfielder back into action, pointing out that Slater is in a less than ideal spot. With the Triple-A season ending on today, Slater doesn’t have the requisite amount of time to get a proper number of rehab at bats.
