Wondering where Buster was during last night and today's games? He was scratched due to "minor neck stiffness." There is still plenty of time for him to get in the workload he needs to be ready for the season. The team was hoping to get him close to ready to play a full game by Monday, the day he and Crawford depart for Team USA’s camp in preparation for the WBC.
On another note, after missing nearly 3 weeks to take care of his ill father, Johnny Cueto is scheduled to arrive in Scottsdale on Friday. Cueto is traveling with his father, who was hospitalized last month. With the arrival of Johnny Béisbol, the Giants' full squad will be at ST.
Cueto has been working out at the SFG facility in the Dominican Republic and the team isn't concerned about his missed time. There is, however, some concern about Cueto's desire to participate in the WBC. The Giants had hoped to get him in a couple of spring games before his departure, but that won't be possible at this point. Cueto has not yet announced a decision regarding his participation. I guess we'll know by Monday!
How do you feel about our Boys playing in the World Baseball Classic? It goes from 3/6 to 3/22 this year. The first-round hosts will be Tokyo, Seoul, Miami, and Guadalajara. The second round hosts will be Tokyo and San Diego, and the championship round will be played in Los Angeles. I'll give you my opinion after I hear from y'all! Bring it on Giants fans!
