Congratulations to Johnny Beisbol on winning National League Player of the week! The Giants’ right-hander went 2-0 this week with wins over the in-division Padres and Rockies, allowing just two earned runs over 15 innings for a 0.60 ERA. He also struck out 11 batters over the two starts, one of which was a complete-game shutout. It was his third complete game of the season, which ties him with Clayton Kershaw and, surprisingly, knuckleballer Steven Wright for the MLB lead. Keep up the great work, Johnny!

Jake Peavy celebrated his 35th birthday today in style, carrying a no hitter into the fifth inning, giving up only one hit and holding the Braves scoreless for seven innings. The Giants win 4-0 to even the series. Tomorrow's rubber match starts at 4:10 PST, with Albert Suarez making his starting debut in place of Matt Cain, who is our with a hamstring injury.
