You are a fool and even as you are protected and given freedom of expression, a right provided by our laws, you use that same law to disrespect the country that provides that law. Should you be able to burn the flag in the middle of the field? You had the chance to become a hero to many, Now I see you as a traitor. I do not think you are a hero. Even in the Olympics, our Athletes as the United States representatives stood with others and they stood with us as they listened to National Anthems. Not standing for any Country Anthem is just a sign of ignorance. It is not a song that is the cause of social issues. It is a reflection of the Nation it represents. This Nation is a great nation and one that is always striving to make itself better. If you do not respect the United States, regardless of the position and circumstances of the social issues, then use your skills elsewhere. Quit and protest and fully join in the commitment and image you made on the field. I doubt you will. I am in support of human rights and the right to protest. I also agree there are many issues to address when it comes to fair treatment of people of all colors, races, orientations, age, sex. I know you feel this was the best course of action for you to get a point across about injustice, but consider this land that has provided you with fans, money, freedom, safety and justice. Why not defer your complete salary to a group that may be fighting for the rights that you ended you career to support.
