As a certified athletic trainer I was extremely disappointed to see the following job posting. This position, as described, is for a certified athletic trainer. Most disappointing is that the Giants are willing to hire a student who hasn't completed their training, or been certified, to care for the lives of children. I would think an organization such as the Giants would take the care of their camp attendees more importantly.
The Giants also employee certified athletic trainers in all levels of their organization; therefore, they know that the pay of $15-$17 an hour is an insult to the profession. An athletic trainer should be paid no less than $30 an hour.
I would hope the Giants review this job posting and make the necessary corrections. If they do not, I would not recommend sending your child to this camp as their safety is not a priority.
